Door dampers – the solution against slamming doors
Door dampers reliably prevent doors from slamming shut loudly. They provide a smooth and quiet closing, ensuring that they close completely and remain closed.
Close doors quietly with DICTATOR door dampers
Door dampers come into action just before closing, gently guide the door shut and ensure it closes.
Door dampers make sure that doors close smoothly and reliably, regardless of their size and weight, and prevent them from slamming. They are ideal for places where doors must remain open occasionally as needed, but must not slam shut, such as hospitals, hotels, public buildings, restaurants, churches, apartment buildings, etc.
Door dampers provide a secure closing of doors
They contribute to saving energy and increasing safety.
DICTATOR door dampers ensure that doors do not remain open unintentionally and always close reliably due to the spring force. In both residential and commercial buildings, open doors can be a security risk as they allow unauthorized access. In many cases, they also contribute to energy savings, such as in cold storage rooms or saunas, where doors that are not fully closed lead to higher energy consumption.
Characteristics and models
- Door types: suitable for almost every door – overlapping, recessed and flush doors (with different hooks); different models for hinged and sliding doors
- Door weight: up to 200 kg (depending on spring force and model)
- Closing force: 20 – 115 N (depending on model and version)
- Finish: polished chome, satin chrome, stainless steel or coated black, white, grey or brown (depending on the model)
- Installation: typically installed in the middle of the top edge of the door. Some models also allow for other installation situations
- Damping characteristics: progressive, i.e. the door is reliably and smoothly damped, regardless of size and weight

Application areas of door dampers
Front doors and main doors
Entrance doors, apartment doors, and front doors of apartment buildings often close with a loud bang, especially if they are equipped with an overhead door closer. Other doors, however, do not close completely and remain open, which can be a safety hazard. Door dampers cushion the closing of the door and gently pull it shut.
Fire doors
Fire doors in underground garages, parking lots or basements can slam loudly, which is very annoying for many residents. The reasons for this are the high weight, an incorrectly adjusted door closer or the different air pressure conditions in the fire protection locks. On the other hand, if one of the fire doors in the airlock is closed, it is possible that the other one does not close properly, which means that there is no fire seal. These problems can be avoided simply by using a door damper for fire doors.

Cold storage rooms & walk-in freezers
In many commercial buildings of the food industry, cold room doors are used very frequently – often in a rush, with little regard for whether the door is closed or not. To ensure that the door actually closes and to avoid unnecessary costs and damage, this is a perfect application for door dampers.
